When I assign an asset to a location during creation using the RFID handheld scanner, the tag is detected properly. However, why is the QR code not scanning when I try to use my cell phone?
The QR/barcode scanner will not function unless there is a valid entry in the "Barcode" field within the system. For a barcode to be valid, it must match the last 8 digits of the RFID tag number.
Upon reviewing the database, we found that many barcode fields were left blank. A routine has been run to automatically populate those missing fields for you.
However, please note that there are still several invalid entries where asset numbers were previously entered into the barcode field instead of the required RFID digits. To fix these, locate the asset, click the Edit button, and copy the last 8 digits of the RFID number into the barcode field. Once updated, your cell phone scanner will recognize the code immediately.
